Does anyone know whatthe thing is called to split your LTs and how do you get them or are they even possible to get right now?

They will be given out after the event if you place in a position that rewards them, only rare and epic are available.
Takes a LT of x star and splits it into two of the star level below.
    Your 7* becomes two 6*.

TBH I'm much more interested in the uncommon splitters... Too bad they're nowhere to be seen
      Why so cereal?!

I hope they do commons aswell.

And I hope they implement them in more areas of the game but events. Heists and challenge jobs (and why not remove recombiners completely from game, let splitters take their place in all areas of the game)

We can only get splitters from events? I thought they’d fit well with bosses using same set up as recombinators myself. Just a thought, kinda hard to get them already, especially given you’ll need to stock up to split higher star Lt’s

The Splitters should be make available in Dice jobs or in boss fights. Just like recombinators.
