    Android 8.0 Oreo

    Hi,

my device Sony xperia xz has a system update from Android 7.1.1 to Android 8.0 Oreo.
Because game does not work on Android 7.0 Nougat,
i want to know if it will on 8.0...

As you know, once you installed new system you can't get back.
I am afraid to install update.

    Hi Duke
    2 problems...

On my device with Android 7.0 Nougat on a Wiko Sunny 2 i get startscreen and then the game closes. I reinstalled UE but always the same issue.

Now i got a different device (Sony xperia xz) , that wants me to update from Android 7.1.1 to Android 8.0. I am afraid to update because i don't know if UE will work on it.

Can you login with your Sony xperia xz?

I don't think Android OS version is the reason case to the problem.

How are emoji/player names in 8?

Google apparently fixed something at the OS level for that. Is it working in-game?

What do you mean? My Google Play Games Player ID? Didn't change them.

I mean how you see other player names now. Are they all displaying better than they did on android 7?

    Re: Android 8.0 Oreo

In Android, there is usually a lot of missing characters in some IOS players names. It's a sticking point for many as it can be difficult to know what someone's name in-game is.

In Android 8, Google apparently fixed this so that they don't miss characters/emoji the same as in previous Android versions.

Take a look at a big empire like AF or LS that have a number of players with odd characters in their names. Can you see what they're supposed to say now better than in Android 7?

    Re: Android 8.0 Oreo

There are a lot with blanks inside the names and characters with kind of hieroglyphs and emoji.
    So not really readable.

And in chat you can't write emoticons. They are not displayed.
