    Crate rolls/ Suggestion for improvement

    Hello,

the drop rate of crate rolls have been discussed already many times.

However I would like share my personal issue with it.

Playing as Titan i'm aiming for Strafe lt.

So far I have spent 12 VIP's and haven't gotten a single copy of her.

The drop rate for epics is already awful, but if you're looking for
a specific epic lt it's nearly impossible to get it.

I would be happy having an option to spend an entire VIP for one specific epic LT.

But this is just ridiculous, spending over 1.300,-- euros and
not getting the right lt for your build.

Is this the way how you wanna keep long term players motivated
and keep spending loads of money?

I hope that the responsibles of the game will turn into more
Customer oriented changes. Otherwise my/your days for this game will be counted.

    Re: Crate rolls/ specific lt

Honestly if you're doing x3 rolls, it's only a 1.875% chance to get the specific epic LT you want. So don't expect it to happen. You may think you should get it in 50 x3 rolls, but that's not the way rng works. It took me 4 years to roll my first copy of Alpha, out of like 200 invasion crate rolls. Just understand that in crates, nothing is guaranteed. If you're gonna spend, just go for scratchers and then stockpile all the refills you get so you can win more stuff from events like Casino.

Sadly, spending on crates is probably the worst gamble/investment in the game. Hate to say it but you got suckered in. Don't ever spend on the crates until they change them.. just accept the few free ones we get each month and hope you get lucky and eventually find a Strafe.

    Crate rolls overhaul, thoughts?

Crates have by far the lowest return investment out of anything in the game right now. No one should be spending money on rolling crates, even if you're a regular spender, unless there are tons of LTs you really want from a single crate. The value of a crate is simply much less than that of scratchers or FP refills. The odds of you getting something you'll actually use are too low.

The problem is that a crate costs $5+tax for a single roll, or $13.25+tax for 3 rolls. Yet, all it contains is one LT. And 85% of the time it's a shit common or uncommon. Why even call it a crate if it has barely anything in it? My suggestion is to update the crates so when you open them, they give you multiple things including the LT. Maybe you'll roll the usually shitty LT but you also roll some other items. The way this would work is the crate gives you 4 separate rolls inside of it. The beauty of this is that it improves crates without devaluing rare/epic LTs or making them easier to star up.

    1. LT roll: This is just the 55% common, 30% uncommon, 10% rare, 5% epic. The roll we all know. This is the main roll and it's in the middle.

    2. Chem pack roll: 100% chance at a chem pack. Tier 1: 50% chance, tier 2: 45% chance, tier 3: 4% chance, tier 4: 0.9% chance, tier 5: 0.1% chance. This roll is to the left of the LT roll. Tier 1 has common border, tier 2 uncommon border, tier 3 rare border, tier 4/5 epic borders.

    3. Item roll: You roll tech lab components (like basic materials), golden/silver bullets for legend bosses, an energy or stamina refill, or a random black market LT item. This roll is to the right of the LT roll.

    4. Crate shard roll: 75% chance to get between 1-10 crate shards. 20% chance to get between 1-8 rare crate shards. 5% chance to get between 1-5 epic crate shards. This roll is an rng thing that happens after the crate roll finishes. You get a notification "You've salvaged some shards out of the remains of the crate!"

yes. some toons can be bad luck all the time. (like mine) some other toon can get em easily. so i guess ur on the bad luck side. So just stop doing crate. u probably not gonna get it anyway.

Merged both threads with complaints on the crate rolls. Suggestions for improvement can continued to be offered on this joint thread.

I LOVE THE IDEA, WOULD MAKE IT NOT HURT AS MUCH BUT HOW ABOUT LT GEAR IN THERE TOO ? AND MAYBE A TWEAK IN PERCENT CAUSE COMMONS WILL JUST TURN GUYS AWAY AND GAEA WILL JUST LOSE MORE MONEY THAT THEY CAN GET IF THEY JUST CHANGE IT, ITS A GAME LETS HAVE FUN WITH IT WHILE ITS STILL AVAIL

I doubt they'd ever adjust the %'s but we can always hope at the very least they just lower the common chance. 55% chance to get guaranteed complete dogshit for your money is so sad. Basically means more often than not, you're throwing FP/money in the trash by rolling a crate. 40% common, 40% uncommon, 15% rare, 5% epic sounds more fair to me.. So you have a higher chance to get something other than a common when you roll.

Re: Crate rolls/ Suggestion for improvement

I call them Crate Trolls for a reason.

    My current spending motto is:

You can't get a 5* Frank from a crate roll, but that 5 FP you have left over just might on a scratcher. Maybe if crates cost what scratchers did, the drop rate would be liveable but this isn't the first story I have heard of multiple ViPs with no joy.

I've seen people rage quit the game first hand spending their first ViPs and getting nothing of note. Heck, I've seen rage quits over phenomenal overall luck but no joy upon the targeted LT. That is the last money the game sees from these players ever again. I have posted multiple suggestions based upon how other games manage this and make it more appealing than deterring to spend on crates but we haven't seen any of that employed here yet. Maybe if we're lucky, customer apprieciation at anniversary time will actually feel like we're apprieciated instead of milked livestock in regards to crate monitization. One can always hope anyways.

Best advice has already been stated by many. Never spend on crates unless the existing problems with them are addressed somehow - for as little as they pay out, they're more likely to make you hate the game than become more attached to it.

I gave up upon pushing that agenda here as it landed upon deaf ears.

    Tl;dr:

    Crates bad, scratchers gooooood

Re: Crate rolls/ Suggestion for improvement

I like the suggestion of additional items on a roll. Another easy improvement would be if you roll for rairty only and you choose the lieutenant you want in the given crate / rarity. (eg you roll Invasion Crate and land on Rare, you can choose any of the rare lts from that crate - Bulldog, Alpha, Crimson...)

Re: Crate rolls/ Suggestion for improvement

    Hey guys,

first of all thx for your opinions and sharing thoughts/ideas.

Crate rolls definitely need an overhaulin.

Many suggestions made already in the past and
    none respected or considered.

However, I'd like to summarize a few possible changes that could bring
crate rolling to satisfaction or worthy to spend on.

    1. implementation of a guaranteed epic drop after certain amount of rolls

    2. fixed (fp/cash) amount for a specific lt to buy

    3. epic crate shards drop on every roll (1 per roll - 30 rolls = 30 epic shards )

    4. no difference of drop rate between rarity (32 lt's in crate / chance 1:32)

    5. choose lt from rarity you rolled (rolls not a specific lt but rarity and then choose which one you want from that rarity)

I'm sure there are a lot more great ideas out there. Feel free to continually post them here.

I hope the devs/Duke will finally pay attention and send us a sign on this (positive or negative) , so
we know what to expect in near future.

    Thx again

Re: Crate rolls/ Suggestion for improvement

You're better off building your toon and skills around the LTS you have, than trying to roll a specific LT.

You can at least control your class and skills.

    Most rational advice ever!

Crates will always be evil, no matter what.

About suggestions to lt acquisition in-game, I never understood why a game that revolves almost entirely in lts be so unfriendly in options to give them to the player base.
I played others games that held everyday tournaments that gave the chance to obtain old "non-available anymore" characters to players that were higher in the brackets.
But sadly I don't think we'll ever get anything really good easily in UE. Only if you're one of the whales.

Re: Crate rolls/ Suggestion for improvement

    Here is an idea.

Every triple crate roll there is up to 4 crate shards. You can earn 1 rare crate shard 1 max per day, and an epic 1 max per week.

Single roll a chance to earn 1 crate shard.

Crate rolls need to provide value for money spent. Currently this is not good value and it sure seems the higher your level the worse luck you have. I wonder if your chance % is affected by your level?

agree, aslo its differnt on shard drops, low levels get em easy high levels maybe 1x a day

Re: Crate rolls/ Suggestion for improvement

All are after the epic lts so it would be best to get 1 epic shard per crate roll as a bonus. So at least after the 30th roll u would get an epic guaranteed.

Re: Crate rolls/ Suggestion for improvement

Of course devs could give us a "super crate roll shard" per crate rolled.
