Empire wars point equality - who wins ?

What determines the winner in an empire war when points are even? I have been in a number of cases with points equality but it was every time the other team that won. For a while I considered that maybe the first to reach that count might be the winner, but that is not the case.

Who would win in this scenario (if this is possible)?
What if your empire completely kills all opponent members and destroys all opponent buildings but ends up with less points than the other empire - who wins?

Yup you can destroy and kill everyone and still lose. Probably the worst rule in the game. Destroy an enemy and still lose.

That "could" happen, but the probability is against 0 i guess.

But yes: There are teams with just a couple of big toons (over lvl1k) and just small upgrades so u cant get a lots of pts from this Empires. But still can get around 100 pts and every opponent needs to get at least the same amount of pts to win.

I think that someone posted a screenshot a long time back where they lost a war even though they have killed everyone on the other team and destroyed all of the buildings because the other team was small enough that the maximum number of points they could score was fewer than what their opponent had at the end of the war.

I agree, that is a horrible rule. If you completely destroy the enemy you should win regardless of how many points are scored.

It's not possible, once you kill and destroy everything and everyone. The war is over. But if you cant completely kill everything and everyone, it goes to the score card.

That's not how it's currently programmed. Killing all enemies and buildings ends the war, but the result is ALWAYS based on SCORE.

Which means if a team had 9 Level 2000k titans and sat in the buildings eating tokens they could kill enough of your players and hold you to a building or two and win.

If the opponent loses the ability to fight they should lose.

Ouch. Never encountered this before. I always assumed if you destroyed the other empire, the match would end and your team won. Sort of like chess. Doesnt matter if you are losing in points if you trap the other guys king its checkmate and you win. Considering you dont want to end a match early because you lose out on CC's it seems stupid that you would have to beat a team quickly, lose out on CC's in order to score a win. Seems like losing in this scenario would net you more CC which doesn't make any sense.

Trying to wrap my head around this but I think I get it...if a empire only has 5 guys that are level 4000 and are active enough to stay alive they still have 9 buildings the other empire has to burn down. In the case the other empire gets them down including the buildings the war would end. If somehow the big beasts scored more points upon wars end they would win? Even though the other empire took down the beasts and thier buildings first? Kinda makes sense if we are going by a points calculation but this is something that we would rarely see right? Or is it something the future has in store for us the longer this game is out?
