There has recently been a new addition to the forum, in the form of reputation points! Many of you who have visited other forums will be familiar with this new feature. Once you receive a reputation point, there will be a tab in your profile for both you and others to view your reputation. On this tab, you can see your total reputation points, who gave you reputation points, what post they gave them to you from, and a little comment that they type. To give reputation points, you click on a little icon on the bottom left of every post. It will pull up a dialog, which lets you give them positive reputation, negative reputation, and leave them a comment to go along with it. All of these things will be displayed in their reputation tab. Below are some pictures to clarify:
There is a shield-shaped icon on the bottom of every post, used to give that user Reputation Points.
A little pop-up shows up when you click the shield, allowing you to give a user positive or negative reputation points.
A Reputation tab will be available once you receive your first reputation points.
You will now see a little green (or red) icon below your name in posts and elsewhere on the site. When you mouse over it, on both your posts and anyone else's, it will give you a summary of their points. The messages that you may see go as follows:
Make sure that you click whichever option you want (approve or disapprove). Even though it appears that "I approve" is already checked, it is not. If you don't click it, it will just give a neutral reputation.Originally Posted by Airmid
